Senior Dance Concert

The Senior Dance Concert will be held tonight at Arts Academy in the
Woods in the gym. The tickets are $2 per person or $5 for group.

Jazz I/II

Create a brief jazz dance based on your personal experience with it. In other words, what is your story -- history with jazz dance. Your movement phrase should be no more than 32 counts. Assess yourself after your performance. This should be at least a paragraph.

Parent Teacher Conferences

Black & White Party

On March 5, 2010, the dance department will host a black & white party: red carpet event. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. The attire is casual to formal. There will be a 50/50 raffle, prizes and a light dinner will be served. Please come out and have fun!

Midterm Exam Schedule

Tuesday, January 26, 2010 - 1, 2, and 7
Intro (1 1/2 minute solo including saute, pas de bourree, and 1/2 pourette)
Jazz (2 1/2 minutes group work including two choreographic principles, and pop music)

Wednesday, January 27, 2010 - 3 and 4
Modern 1 (2 minutes...push for 2.5, music w/o words, write up social theme)

Thursday, January 28, 2010 - 5 and 6
Modern 2 - create a duet, no restrictions with choreographic principles, 2 1/2 minutes, music w/o words.

Modern 3 & 4 - create a contemporary dance (solo) based on a political social theme, 2 1/2 minutes minimum, music with or w/o words. Submit typed written work to instructor (per class meeting).

AAW Arts Concert

The AAW Arts Concert on January 20, 2010 has been moved to Wednesday, February 3, 2010. However, there will be a small informance in studio 110 of the works during 1st and 2nd hrs. Thank you for your cooperation.
